Whether you clean your bathroom in a few hours or spread the task out over several days, it can be hard remembering to scrub every tile, dust every surface, and wash every towel. Using this daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly cleaning checklist will help you stay on top of tasks and free up time for the things you love. For larger households, consider delegating tasks to family members to keep everyone accountable.

Daily

  • Wipe down sink, tub, and faucets after each use
  • Wipe down counters
  • Spray shower and shower curtain/door with cleaning mist after use

Weekly

  • Scrub bathtub, shower, and tiles
  • Scrub and disinfect the sink and toilet
  • Clean mirrors and faucets
  • Wipe down and disinfect counters
  • Wash toothbrush holders and cups used for rinsing
  • Wash and refill soap dispenser or soap dish
  • Wipe down and disinfect doors and doorknobs
  • Empty and wipe down the wastebasket
  • Vacuum, sweep, or mop the floor
  • Wipe down switch plates, moldings, and baseboards
  • Replace and wash towels
  • Dust windowsills and other exposed surfaces
  • Wash any rugs or mats, if necessary (some prefer bi-weekly)

Monthly

  • Wipe down and disinfect fronts of cabinets and drawers
  • Organize medicine cabinets, linen towers, and items in drawers
  • Deal with any mold and mildew in the bathroom
  • Check and restock supplies, including toiletries and cleaning products

Quarterly

  • Clean and re-seal grout (if needed)
  • Dispose of expired or old medication, cosmetics, and toiletries
  • Change or launder the shower curtain and liner
  • Wash walls and ceiling
  • Launder window curtains, if applicable

Yearly

  • Wash windows inside and out
  • Replace torn mats and rugs
  • Replace torn window curtains, if applicable
  • Clean out or vacuum ventilator
  • Deep-clean carpet, if applicable
